Registered Behavior Technician

The Registered Behavior Technician® (RBT®) is a paraprofessional certification in behavior analysis. RBTs assist in delivering behavior analysis services and practice under the direction and close supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, who are responsible for all work RBTs perform. In order to become an RBT, you must complete a 40 hour coursework series, pass the in person competency assessment, as well as the written exam.

Board Certified Behavior Analyst

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA®) is a graduate-level certification in behavior analysis. Professionals certified at the BCBA level are independent practitioners who provide behavior-analytic services. BCBAs may supervise the work of Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts® (BCaBAs®), Registered Behavior Technicians® (RBTs®), and other professionals who implement behavior-analytic interventions. In order to become a BCBA, you must have a Master’s degree in Education, Psychology, or ABA, obtain 2,000 hours of supervised fieldwork, complete the 5th Edition Coursework Requirements per the BACB, and pass the written exam.
